We are back from our Winter Break and more excited than ever to recognize this awesome group of educators! Our 3rd-5th grade team at Weaverville Elementary is inspiring, working each day to bring new ideas and make learning fun for our lucky students.

In 3rd grade, Sierra Keating and Lacey Sanchez teach with so much creativity and heart, and Mrs. Keating’s favorite part of working at WES is “building meaningful relationships with her students.” Mrs. Sanchez says she hopes her students will always remember that they felt safe, supported and valued in her classroom.

We are thrilled to welcome Mel Tambura as our 4th grade teacher. Together with intervention/resource specialist Hillary Walz, this team has seen student growth and success in the classroom every day. Ms. Hillary's favorite part of working here is "the moment a student has a breakthrough with something they were struggling with. I love getting to celebrate these moments with them."

And finally, our 5th grade teacher Mrs. Cox brings 25 years of teaching experience to our school. If you have ever had the pleasure of being in one of her classes, you will know you are learning from one of the greats! She is truly invested in all of her students, and always instills in them that “learning is fun, and don’t stop if it is hard- keep trying.”

We are so proud of this team and are ready to have a fantastic second half of the year!

😺🎉This week, the Wildcat staff spotlight shines on the dedicated teachers of the TPA 7th/8th grade wing: Maribel Lootens, Colin Smith, and Jenny Baudizzon. This amazing team is a true asset to our school, with each member contributing their unique talents.

Colin Smith, with 32 years of experience, brings a wealth of knowledge to his Language Arts and History classes. He continually inspires students with fresh ideas and his diverse passions, from chess and bird watching to bread making and mountain biking.

Maribel Lootens is a truly gifted educator who brings science to life daily. She challenges students in her Spanish 1 and Yearbook classes, ensuring they are thoroughly prepared for the academic rigor of high school.

Jenny Baudizzon, a WES Alumni, has returned home after graduating from UC Davis. She infuses Math and Science lessons with her joy for learning and fresh perspectives. Her favorite aspect of working at WES is our strong sense of community.

We are incredibly lucky to have this strong and dedicated team, who consistently make learning an engaging experience every day!😺🎉

😺🎉Weaverville Elementary School and Trinity Preparatory Academy would like to shine this week’s spotlight on our incredible Director of Independent Studies and Teacher, Tori Geist! She runs a great program, works hard supporting her students and always makes sure to keep them connected on campus by participating in sports, performing arts and field trips.

We are so grateful for everything Mrs. Geist brings to our school, she even brought her basketball expertise to our TPA Girls Basketball team this year by helping coach our young athletes.

What is her favorite part of working at WES/TPA? She says, “I love the people that I work with here and the support my program gets. The families I get to work with are amazing!”

We think Mrs. Geist is amazing- and we appreciate all she does for our campus family and our community!😺🎉
